The History Behind KMC
The history of KMC Seasoning, believe it or not, started out in a small kitchen in a house in Liverpool. It was founded by Kishor Vadgama in 2011. Originally from the East African country of Tanzania, Kishor moved to Liverpool in 2002 due to his love of Liverpool Football Club, a team he now holds a season ticket for.
Kishor would spend hours of his free time coming up with unique recipe ideas and experimenting with different ingredients to perfect the best seasoning mix – often working until the early hours of the morning! When he was confident in what he had created, Kishor decided to begin offering local suppliers and butchers with free samples.
After a positive response, the demand for the product began to significantly increase. Kishor decided to invest in a garden lean-to so that he could produce more seasoning. Eventually, it was clear that he needed to expand the business further and to date, the product is produced in a local factory by a small team.
Now, KMC salt and pepper seasoning is a firm favourite at shops, butchers, wholesalers, grocery stores and Chinese supermarkets throughout the country. The business prides itself on delivering excellent standards of quality and is at the largest it’s ever been. The product can be bought in various sizes, including catering and retail packs, and has seen commercial usage at restaurants, takeaways and even schools. The plan is to expand even further over the coming months with additional products already identified, including smoky BBQ, garlic salt and red salt.
