If you are planning a get-together, beetroot tikkis will work perfectly well to kick-start the evening.
Beets are rich in vitamins like Vitamin B6 and nutrients like magnesium, iron and potassium.
Beetroot Tikkis
Ingredients:
Salt, to taste
Refined oil, to fry
1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
½ tsp ginger, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp cornflour
2 beets, boiled and mashed
Method:
- Add the coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli, pepper, and salt to beets and mix.
- Make small spheres, and flatten slightly.
- Coat with breadcrumbs and dip in cornflour batter.
- Deep fry till golden.
- Serve hot.
