Health on My Mind: Beetroot Tikkis

If you are planning a get-together, beetroot tikkis will work perfectly well to kick-start the evening.

Beets are rich in vitamins like Vitamin B6 and nutrients like magnesium, iron and potassium.

 

Beetroot Tikkis

Ingredients:

Salt, to taste

Refined oil, to fry

1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped

½ tsp ginger, finely chopped

2 green chillies, finely chopped

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 tbsp cornflour

2 beets, boiled and mashed

 

Method:

  1. Add the coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli, pepper, and salt to beets and mix.
  2. Make small spheres, and flatten slightly.
  3. Coat with breadcrumbs and dip in cornflour batter.
  4. Deep fry till golden.
  5. Serve hot.
